General

File share module allows you to upload, share and collaborate on files and documents for the purpose of effective collaboration.
The main interface contains the table listing files in the current folder. It has all neccessary information to see who and when created or edited the file or who is working over it currently. If you a planning to work on a file and upload a new version then you should use lock. By locking a file one restricts any changes to be maid by anyone else except the person who set the lock. All others can see who and when put the lock.

Simple search allows to find files quickly by just entering a search phrase or a part of it. The quick search will be performed in the following fields: title, description, keywords, creator name and email.

Advanced search uses broad match as well, which allows you to enter just a part or even a single letter of the search term, but the search will be performed only in the defined fields. Besides, you can define a date period during which the target file has been uploaded or edited, size, author, or starting folder from which the search will be performed down the folders tree.

For your convenience, when any folder except the root folder is selected, or a search is active - a reminder is displayed over the table. This way you never forget where you are, when search or folder selection widgets are collapsed.

Folders management

Folders in aheadOffice file share serve for the same purpose as usual folders on your PC. They help to categorize files by project, activity or any other way. To create a folder just click according button and choose a title, parent folder and access type. Access type restricts access to the folder, only allowed accounts can see the folder and its contents. Thus, accountancy or client folders can be created to discuss issues that shouldn't be public under domain.

Please note that account managers have access to all folders neglecting their permissions.

In the folders widget next to each folder the number of subfolders on the first level is displayed.
