Announcements

Announcements are used to notify people in your domain regarding events or broadcast important notes. An enabled announcement is displayed in a block just under the main navigation and cannot be unnoticed. The block contains information about who and when created it, the title, text and closing button. Sometimes, aheadOffice posts important announcements to all subdomains or their account managers.
After reading users can close the announcement and make it disappear from all pages, however it would be always available under "Announcements" navigation point, unless deleted.

Creation

Besides usual title and text the following fields must be understood:

  • Publish allows to publish the announcement immediately as well as delay until the selected date and time.
  • Take off denotes when the announcement will be taken off users screen if they don't close it by clicking the closing button. Take off can be manual, or automatic on a selected date.
  • Take off and delete deletes the announcement from the system after automatic take off. The announcement cannot be restored later!
  • Enabled denotes whether the announcement is ready to be published. Unless enabled, no announcement can be displayed even if publishing date has already come.
  • Email notifications, if checked - sends emails with the announcement notification when it becomes published.
  • Participants are people who must see the announcement. You can select whole domain or particular groups.
